Segueing into another subject, Avon and Cally. Just as I said I didn't
really think he had much genuine interest in Servalan, I saw a real
potential between them. Although they were of quite different minds on
any number of issues, they were respectful of their differences (the
occaisional witty remark notwithstanding). By the third season, Avon is
actually initiating *personal* conversation with her, "It looks like a
door and it's closed."
Physically, Cally and "Anna" are a similiar type; coincidence, or does
Avon have a preference for slender builds?
Cally, unlike the other women in his life, has a track record of
*loyalty*, only occaisionally weakened by her extremem loneliness.
Does Cally telepath to Avon more frequently than the others?
Can anyone say if she seems to show any favor toward him as opposed to
the rest of the crew? Most evidence I can think of for them warming up
to each other is more based on his reactions (although Sarcophogas could
definnitely be argued as a sign of her favor)

I just want to say the fascinating thing about this isn't really where
things end up: I've reserved putting in my 2 cents in general-- but
hearing the arguements. Episdoes that made barely an impression on me,
are stuanchly defended as containing important revelations on some
characters, or furthering the rebellion itself. There are obviously
scores of different critereon to apply to the stories, and I'm
appreciating the value of what I considered second-stringers more for
having these pointed out. Thanks for the lessons.

You're right; I've always thought of him as Boris, precisely because
of the Who song. Hadn't really registered that everybody was calling
him Brian. Why Brian, exactly?
Well, I shall have to be more careful; I really wouldn't want to
draw any comparisons between you and a Kairopan spider.

Agreed - One of the first fan stories I ever read, and absolutely one of the

Yes, the general feistiness of Redemption evens makes up for the hideous new
costumes they gave Gan and Cally. Avon and Jenna make a very attractive
couple, don't they? And Avon actually *apologizes* to Vila - a red-letter
occasion for sure!
